The 7th RI Latino Arts Network event took place at the Southside Cultural Center, 393 Broad Street, located in the heart of and home of the South Providence Latino community.

The event was an opportunity for local musicians to meet and jam with internationally renowned guitarist and
cuatro expert, Lorena Garay who traveled from Connecticut to offer a workshop later in the evening at the Providence Children’s Museum, to celebrate Latino Heritage Month (see photos below). Funds for these events were provided in part by the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA).

The jam session turned into an informal Caribbean drumming event with local percussion/performing artists such as Roberto (Robertico) Arias, Jesus Andujar, Evans Molina, Lydia Pérez. Representatives from Senator Jack Reed plus RILA’s board members were present.

To be included on our invitation list for future RILAN events, fill out the
sign up form on this page.
