Need Volunteers for Street Art | El Museo del Barrio
| 2020

We have commissioned Latinx artists
Tamara Díaz and
Rene Gómez to create street murals made up of whimsical designs that will be painted on Ontario Street in six-feet intervals. We will also paint around the parameters of
Carolina's Family Restaurant on Ontario and Broad Streets in South Providence. The street and sidewalk art will allow neighborhood residents to follow safe-distancing measures, while enjoying bright colorful art as they shop on Broad Street.
We are looking for volunteers to help sweep, manage foot traffic, distribute water, distribute face masks and if you're so inclined, to paint on
Sunday, August 2, 2020 between the hours of 7AM to 8PM. Come for a few hours, come all day.
We will be distributing
free face masks and providing information on places where Latinos of all ages can get tested without fear of their immigration status being made public.
To help, please contact Marta V. Martinez at
marta@rilatinoarts.org We will provide water and snacks.

FACE MASKS will be required at all times
Funds for this project have been provided in part by the Providence Streets Coalition and the Providence Dept. of Art, Culture + Tourism
