Welcome to Orlando!

June 10, 2018 — As part of RILA commitment to strengthening its partnership with Trinity Repertory Company, we have hired Orlando Hernández as RILA’s Performing Arts Programs Coordinator. His first task is to assist the two organizations in moving forward with their Teatro Latino | Rhode Island initiative.

Orlando has already translated and co-directed this summer’s 2018 Teatro en El Verano play, Shakespeare’s La Tempestad | The Tempest , which will have five performances in the City of Providence, Central Falls and Pawtucket during the month of July.

Starting on Thursday, July 11th and every Wednesday in July, he will be leading weekly script readings and gatherings at RILA’s
La Galería del Pueblo cultural center space in Central Falls, to provide a forum for Latinos to discuss and help shape the creation of the first bilingual theater company in Rhode Island. If you are interested in participating in the script readings, contact Orlando.

Orlando will also be overseeing all of RILA’s performance programs, which include dance, drumming, and theater for all ages. He is a Master Tap Dancer, and will be leading a tap dance workshop in the future.

Join us in welcoming Orlando to the RILA family! He can be contacted at:
