The National Day of Listening is November 29, 2013
November • 2013
On the day after Thanksgiving, set aside one hour to have a conversation with someone important to you: an older relative, a friend, a teacher, or someone from the neighborhood. Take notes or record your conversation, and post it below.
Make a yearly tradition to listen to and preserve a loved one’s story. Share with us any stories that we may be able to follow up for Nuestras Raíces the Latino Oral History of RI Project, .
Here are some questions that have led to great conversations:
• What are some of the most important lessons you have learned in life?
• What are you most proud of?
• What was the happiest moment of your life? The saddest?
• Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did they teach you?
• How would you like to be remembered?
Take the time to take a photo of the person you are interviewing and share that with us too. Email it to us at: info@nuestrasraicesri.org.
