La Galería del Pueblo announces a call for original paintings, photographs, digital submissions that may be recreated into posters that celebrate the powerful theme of ¡Sí Se Puede! — "Yes, We Can!" This theme emphasizes resilience, empowerment, and collective action, capturing the spirit of hope and perseverance.
We invite artists of all levels and backgrounds to create a visual interpretation that aligns with the message of strength, community, and the ongoing journey towards social justice and positive change.

AGREEMENT: La Galería del Pueblo reserves the right to photograph an accepted work for publication and publicity purposes.
All selected works will be posted (on virtual display) throughout the duration of the exhibition on this website. Each week, RILA will choose one featured artist and their work from the exhibition to be posted on all our social media accounts.
Guidelines:
- Size:
- Paintings and photos accepted. All painted submissions must be on a canvas, sized 18 x 24 inches. Photos should be printed 18 x 24 on matte paper (not glossy) Vertical orientation only.
- Theme:
- Posters must visually reflect the theme ¡Sí Se Puede! We encourage submissions that highlight empowerment, unity, activism, and optimism.
- Feel free to draw inspiration from diverse communities, cultures, movements, and causes.
- Style & Medium:
- Open to any artistic style—whether traditional or digital illustration, photography, graphic design, or mixed media.
- Ensure that your design is bold, eye-catching, and easily readable from a distance.
- Final works do not have to be framed, but they must be able to be hanged on the wall, with a hanging wire.
- Photographs should be framed and enlarged large enough for full display. We prefer you NOT cover with glass of any kind.
- You may submit between 3-5 images for consideration. Only one will be selected.
- Submission Requirements:
- Submit up to three high-resolution digital files (300 DPI) in .JPEG or .PNG format for consideration.
- File size should not exceed 10MB.
- Include a brief artist statement (150 words or less) explaining your concept and how it connects to the theme.
- If selected, photographs must be delivered framed with wire hanging. Digital Art: if printed on poster boards, it must be wired and ready to hang.
- Copyright & Usage:
- Artists retain the rights to their work. However, by submitting, you grant the organizers the right to use your poster in promotional materials, including but not limited to print, digital, and social media.
- Deadline:
- To be considered, all submissions must be received no later than December 15, 2024
- Selection Process:
- Posters will be reviewed based on creativity, relevance to the theme, visual impact, and originality.
- Selected artists will be notified via email by December 21, 2024

This group exhibition will consist of up to 15 original works created by practicing artists living and working in Rhode Island + bordering states of Connecticut and Massachussetts. We will only accept original visual art that will be hung in the gallery. There will be a separate call for writers of poetry, prose, monologues, music, etc. There is NO Entrance Fee
