Broad Street Stories (BSS) invites artists and creatives with an interest in cultural place-keeping to work with the Broad Street Stories team, the City of Providence Department of Art, Culture, and Tourism (ACT), and Rhode Island Latino Arts (RILA) to create three permanent cultural heritage installations along Broad Street in South Providence. Individuals or teams are welcome to apply.
The total budget for all three installations is $45,640 to be spent in its entirety by June 1, 2025. A maximum of 20% of this budget, or $9,128, can be allocated as artist(s) stipend. There is no allocated budget for ongoing maintenance of the installations.
The selected applicant will participate in design conversations with the project team through Fall 2024, with start date of fabrication in January 2025. The final piece to be complete by June 1, 2025.
