Páginas | Latinx Centered Book Circle

A welcoming space for discussion, discovery, and connection

Páginas is a gathering of people who identify as Latina, Latino, Latinx or those interested in Latinx culture. We will come together once a month to read, discuss, and celebrate literature by Latinx authors or works that explore Latinx or Latin-American themes. We offer a space for community, identity, and shared experiences, focusing on the diverse perspectives within the Latinx diaspora.

Páginas is a safe space to express yourself in English, Spanish, or Spanglish.

Who is this for?

  • Diverse Readers: People interested in themes of migration, identity, and cross-cultural experiences.
  • Socially Conscious Individuals: Those who are curious about or engaged in issues related to immigration, social justice, and human rights.
  • Community Activists: Participants engaged in local or global movements related to borders, refugee rights, or indigenous land rights.
  • General Book Lovers: Anyone who enjoys reading thought-provoking, globally relevant stories that connect human experiences across divides.

Boundaries and Crossings

For this book circle we have beeen discussing the the theme of Fronteras | Borders, which relates to our current visual art exhibition. Each chapter takes the reader on a journey through stories that delves into the concept of borders—both physical and metaphorical. From political frontiers and cultural divisions to personal boundaries and identity shifts, we’ll explore narratives that challenge, transcend, and redefine the spaces between. Through diverse voices, we’ll discuss the implications of living on the edge of boundaries, where nations, languages, and identities intersect, and reflect on what it means to belong—or not belong—in a world of constantly shifting lines.
