Tejiendo Historias is dedicated to celebrating the craft of storytelling and the vibrant Latinx experience. It provides a platform for bilingual Latinx individuals to share their stories in both English and Spanish, weaving together the threads of personal and cultural narratives.

We will be announcing the next Tejiendo Historias show soon!

Expect laughter, chills, memory-sharing, and an atmosphere that welcomes families, young people, and elders alike. At the end of the evening, everyone will leave carrying not just the echoes of La Llorona’s cry or the warning of El Cucuy’s shadow, but also a deeper connection to the power of cultural storytelling.
Tejiendo Historias will bring you into an evening where ancestral voices come alive through storytelling. Drawing on well-known cultural cuentos and legendary figures passed down from generation to generation, this event blends oral tradition with contemporary performance to show how families have long used stories not only to entertain, but also to guide and discipline children.

More than just a night of “scary stories,” Tejiendo Historias is a cultural weaving—a chance to see how these cuentos carry moral lessons, family traditions, and echoes of migration. Through storytelling and audience interaction, we honor the creativity of Latino and Caribbean oral traditions while opening space for reflection at the end, during Open Mic: What stories did you grow up hearing, and how do they shape the way you see the world today?

Tejiendo Historias, a vibrant bilingual storytelling event where personal narratives, cultural memories, and lived experiences are woven together in a tapestry of powerful, heartfelt stories. Rooted in the Latinx tradition of oral storytelling, this event celebrates the voices that too often go unheard—voices that carry history, humor, resilience, and truth.

In a time when our stories are needed more than ever, Tejiendo Historias creates space for connection, reflection, and shared humanity. This event is for anyone who believes in the power of storytelling—whether you are Latinx or an ally, a lifelong Rhode Islander or new to the neighborhood, a lover of stories or someone with one waiting to be told.

Come to listen. Come to feel. Come to remember. And if inspiration strikes, stay for the open mic at the end—an invitation to step up and share your own story, en tus palabras.

All are welcome. All stories matter.
