A Latinx-Centered Book Circle

Páginas is a gathering of people who identify as Latina, Latino, Latinx or those interested in Latinx culture. We will come together once a month to read, discuss, and celebrate literature by Latinx authors or works that explore Latinx or Latin-American themes. We offer a space for community, identity, and shared experiences, focusing on the diverse perspectives within the Latinx diaspora.

Páginas is a safe space to express yourself in English, Spanish, or Spanglish.

Who is this for?

  • Diverse Readers: People interested in themes of migration, identity, and cross-cultural experiences.
  • Socially Conscious Individuals: Those who are curious about or engaged in issues related to immigration, social justice, and human rights.
  • Community Activists: Participants engaged in local or global movements related to borders, refugee rights, or indigenous land rights.
  • General Book Lovers: Anyone who enjoys reading thought-provoking, globally relevant stories that connect human experiences across divides.

We’re bringing back an old favorite from last year’s book list to get us started.

Once you sign up, we will send you the Chapter(s) to read before we come together.

At the end of the first gathering, we will be taking suggestions from participants for future books. Short stories are always a good place to begin before we dive into a full book.
ADD THIS BOOK TO YOUR LIBRARY. We encourage you to buy a copy of the book and to support a local bookstore. There are so many small bookstores in Rhode Island to choose from.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR USED COPIES. If you know anyone who has an extra copy of this book to donate or loan to us, please send us an E-Mail.
