Dancing Skeletons and Roses during COVID-19
Spray paint and stencil
The inspiration to create these doors came from my Mexican cultural heritage. I felt our Lady of Guadalupe was looking down on us, ready to listen to our prayers and to protect those who died during the pandemic. The skeletons are images I use in a lot of my work. Here they represent Día de Los Muertos and tell us to remember our loved ones who have passed. The roses also tied to the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, represent those of us who have been left behind and remind us to always take the time to enjoy the beauty around us.
