This group exhibition will consist of up to 20 original works created by practicing artists living and working in Rhode Island. There is NO Entrance Fee


Submissions Deadline EXTENDED – April 12, 2024

Delivery of Work – Hand delivered no later than April 19, 2024
Opening – Thu. April 25, 2024
Closing - Thu. July 25, 2024

GUIDELINES:

  • Artists must be 18 years or older.
  • Artists must currently be living and working in Rhode Island. (An exception can be made for artists from Rhode Island, not living here. Please submit and make a note on the form if that is that case).
  • Artists working in any media are welcome to enter between one to three original works. We will accept original paintings, photographs, or hand-made wall hangings. No printed mass-produced posters or prints.
  • Original works on canvas must be standard size: Nothing larger than 30 x 40 will be accepted. We may also accept 2D or 3D original art, with certain limitations — check with us first to discuss. NOTE: No crafts (there will be a separate call for artisans to participate in the opening reception)
  • When you apply, you will be asked to upload a digital high resolution image (300dpi) JPG, JPEG, or PNG of your submission. You can submit between 3-5 (depending on the size) images for consideration.
  • Artwork may be for sale.
SELECTED ARTWORK:
  • Selected works must be delivered ready to hang/install. It does not have to be framed, but must have a wire and D-Rings attached to back for easy hanging.
  • Artwork misrepresented or considered unsuitable for presentation will be refused.
DELIVERY:
  • Deadlines for delivered works are firm.
  • Delivered artwork that will be on display must be original art; no reproductions or reprints will be accepted.
  • Delivery of accepted pieces will only be received during the stated days/hours.
  • All work must be packaged in a manner that allows the materials to be re-used for return.
  • No shipped works.
In the application, you will be asked to answer these questions:
Tell us a bit about yourself, about your creative/artistic style (3-4 sentences)
What about Our Lady of Guadalupe inspires you? What inspired the art piece(s) you are submitting?
• You must add the size of each entry, the media, and the year it was created. If the piece(s) will be for sale, please write down a price for each entry.

AGREEMENT: La Galería del Pueblo reserves the right to photograph an accepted work for publication and publicity purposes.

All selected works will be posted (on virtual display) throughout the duration of the exhibition on this website. Each week, RILA will choose one featured artist and their work from the exhibition to be posted on all our social media accounts.
